The kidneys are responsible for filtering and removing waste products from the blood. Hemodialysis is used for those with severe kidney disease to aid their filtering process. Blood is pumped out of the body and into the machine, where it passes through a network of small filtering tubes that simulate a human kidney.
A number of critical sensors are required for hemodialysis to be effective, including the blood leak detector. Different sensors are required for accurate monitoring of liquid flow, pressure, and temperature in both the patient’s blood and the circulating dialysate. They also allow for rapid detection of air bubbles present in either of the fluids.
